On the Edge of Tragedy
If you have children, treasure every last second with them. Even when they are being little snots, they are your little snots, and you should be thankful. Especially hold them tight in parking lots where hopeless morons in giant pick up trucks drive too fast and can't wait for someone to park.

I hope this had a happy ending. At least for you, as I'm sure the hopeless morons of which you speak are exactly that.
Hey Roy, Yes, it did, because my wife grabbed our daughter's hand and pulled her in just as this massive pick up truck whirled around a car waiting to park at Costco and missed out daughter by a foot.
I saw the driver later in the store, a sort of husky, mannish woman wearing a weird pompadour, barrel-assing around the aisles the same way she drove. She blew in between people and around and didn't wait for anyone.
One never has the wherewithal when one REALLY needs it to deal with someone's tire in the proper manner. Needless to say my mind was filled with all kinds of awful scenarios as the evening wore on. I guess a potato in the exhaust would've been good too.
Tires are really, really tough. I would think the type of pocket knife with the lock on the blade so it won't fold back up would be safest.
But best of all was that your daughter will remember shopping with Mom and Dad, getting hugs, probably candy if I'm any judge of character, and a life much, much different than that of those assholes.
